U.S. OPEN:

I thought this year’s Open provided early excitement with all the early upsets in both the men’s & women’s draws. The most prominent being Carlos Alcaraz & Novak Djokovic on the men’s and Wimbledon Champ Barbora Krejcikova and Osaka on the women’s side. There’s always excitement in a Grand Slam tournament because you have a larger draw and there are always upsets and new-comers emerging.

I always look forward to the 2 weeks of the US Open and being in NY, especially staying with BJK & Ilana in their Penthouse. It’s like living up in the clouds for 2 weeks. On one side you can see Central Park on the other side the Hudson River. What’s most fun are all the perks we get when you’re with the King going out to “her house”, the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center.

The Official US Open car is at the door and we pile into the large comfortable Cadillac SUV. We can even watch the matches on our TV on the way to the USTA BJK Tennis Center. At arrival there are cameras awaiting players and celebrities as we make our way to the BJK Suite over looking Arthur Ashe Stadium. What a great way to spend the day at the Open.

After a first good week of matches and catching up with friends and business acquaintances the draw settles down for it’s final week when Connie & I got Covid. As a member of The Final or Last 8 you are entitled to certain benefits, credentials for you & your guest with access to the grounds and player lounge & restaurant. Pretty good deal! On the second Wednesday there’s always a Last 8 dinner and tickets for the matches in the President’s Box and an opportunity to catch up with your tennis family.

Having Covid quarantined Connie & I to staying home. I thought if we can’t be in the President’s Box or the BJK Suite, the next best thing is being in the Penthouse Suite viewing tennis on a 90″ Jumbo screen, relaxing on the sofa. We watched from Wednesday to the finals Sunday cursing our bad luck for missing out on 3 invitations to the President’s Box. I assure you we had the best seats in the house and THESE SEATS ARE NOT FOR SALE!Emoji
