Now that the Washington is back in business I hope everybody’s travel plans go as smooth as the turkey you’ll be cooking! THE LOVE & LOVE TENNIS FOUNDATION would like to wish you and your family a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING whether you travel near or far.
The Holidays is one of my favorite times of the year because it brings people together and it’s a time of joy, giving and receiving. It’s the most wonderful time of the year (as the song goes).
FRITZ BURNS PARK, LA QUINTA TENNIS CLINICS:
We are winding down on our free tennis clinics at Fritz Burns Park in La Quinta due to the construction that is going on all through December and January. We are looking for an alternate place for January and February and are hoping that we may be able to use Fritz Burns Park despite the construction. We will keep you posted. Mean-while there are clinics, NJTL tournaments and play days at the Palm Desert Resorter with Gordon Zawtun. Rhenn Ramirez (https://www.ramirez2racquetsports.com) also has USTA Level 6 & 7 tournaments & junior clinics at Cathedral Canyon Tennis Club.
LOVE & LOVE ANNALEE THURSTON AWARDS FUNDRAISER SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2026 and THE ROSIE CUP:
Hall of Famer Conchita Martinez will be honored with THE ANNALEE THURSTON AWARD on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Palm Valley C.C. This is our foundations biggest event and fundraiser so we appreciate everyone’s support and donations that have made it possible for us to continue our free youth program throughout the Coachella Valley. We will also be partnering once again with the WTA FOUNDATION in “Presenting” the “CHAMPION FOR CHANGE AWARD” to an individual who is recognized for their contributions to the game of tennis. This will be announced soon.
ROSIE CUP DOUBLES ROUND ROBIN SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2026:
You’ll be playing on my home courts at Indian Ridge C.C. in Palm Desert Sunday morning March 8, from 8-10:00am. It’s right across the street from Palm Valley C.C. where the dinner is. If you don’t have a partner we will get you one. The cost is $250 per person and all levels are welcome. A Continental Breakfast will be available and swag bag goodies for every participant. I’ve attached the registration and the invitation that you can register on-line with jotform.
