A History Lesson on Cowgirls with Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova

Today while in Ft . Worth for the WTA CHAMPIONSHIPS  Chris, Martina and I were invited to tour the Cowgirl Museum.

It was fantastic and we all got a little history lesson when we discovered that these Cowgirls were the first of their kind to turn professional and earn a living being cowgirls in the rodeo.

We thought we were the first to make that distinction but we were the continuation of that movement.

They toured the country in the early 1900’s earning a living independent of the men and or husbands.

They were the bread winners and yes there was an Annie Oakley and Dale Evans and a Cowgirl by the name of Sandra Day O’Conner, the  first woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court.

RIDE ‘EM COWGIRLS!!
