WIMBLEDON 2026:
The end of Wimbledon is always a sad affair. It’s the end of the fortnight and most of the players are gone and the outside courts empty. For the few who have gotten to the finals it’s a quiet and happy moment that will change their life forever. You’ve already put yourself through the paces and played the match a hundred times in your mind..ready or not you hope you’re up to the task and holding the trophy at the end!
Fans are still milling around absorbing and consuming what’s left of the Championships in addition to the heat that has descended on Wimbledon. The grass is showing wear and tear and drought from the relentless heat. Herman Hill brimming with people viewing the jumbo screen that puts you in the action. The fortnight has been hotter than what the Wimbledon fortnight generally brings…most of the years it’s the four seasons all in the fortnight. Everybody’s eye is on the past Champion..Sinner, who doesn’t deal with the heat very well!
So much has changed and so little when it comes to walking onto the court for the finals. The Royal Box filled with who’s who starting with Princess Kate & Prince Williams and her two children Charlotte and George.
For me it’s the end of a lovely vacation of enjoying Wimbledon vicariously with some very ond memories. It was 2 weeks of tea and toast and take out dinners of Chinese, Indian food or Wimbledon food court with grilled sausages and fish and chips and sharing with our upstairs resident Billie Jean, Ilana and friends!
There’s nothing like Wimbledon for a player or fans. Congrats to this years winners…2nd time winner – Sinner and first time Noskova. See you at Wimbledon in 2027!
